Porsche Factory Visit - Sep 2000

Group photo

Here are some photos I took while with the Porsche Club of New Zealand when we visited the Porsche factory. Photos originally taken with 35mm film, and developed by the local Trekpleister pharmacy onto CD (but NOT photo-CD). Select the images for a larger version.

The day started off with a visit to the Porsche museum. Lots of nice cars. Most of the time I spent behind a camcorder so there are the only two still shots I have inside the museum. My favourite car, the 1972 911RS. 1972 Porsche 911RS in the museum 1972 Porsche 911RS in the museum

Porsche Carrera Cabriolet at Weissach Porsche Turbo at Weissach After taking a tour of the factory, we were treated to a drive around the test track at Weissach! Most people had a chance to ride in the three different cars made available. A Carrera cabriolet, a Boxster S, and of course the latest Turbo. All were great fun! The Turbo could best be described as a beast. It just seemed to accelerate, as others have said, like a large hand pushing in your back.
